The tiny deer resistant clumps of maidenhair fern like foliage emerge for us in early March, andform a slowly expanding patch to only 6" tall. Although it's native habitat is in moist soils, it has thrived for us in extremely dry soils. In early summer, the clumps of Thalictrum kiusianum are topped with airy, light purple flowers that
