Sun Abstract Oil Painting Original painting:Original oil painting on canvas 18 x 24" Sometimes they are relaxingEver since I was a child and saw films of the Sun's roiling, seething surface and how it throws out vast ribbons of itself, which rise and sink back, I have been fascinated how something that seems to us like a flat disk can be in actuality so textural and almost torn apart by movement. I tend to think of the Sun as rather bland and just there, but it is a truly tumultuous heavenly body. This different take on the Sun is what I wanted to capture here.
