use a suitable pump to replenish the water or even a bucket to change it manually, as mackerel shed a lot of slime which can clog their gills • Don’t muck around after bringing baitfish on board – get them into the water quickly • If the baitfish is bleeding quite a bit, either let it go or use it for other bait purposes • Don’t drop baits on the deck or hold smaller baits in your hands, especially on a multi-day trip – the back of a butter knife is good for unhooking baitfish caught on flies • Try not to mix large powerful baits with small delicate ones – the latter get too knocked about • Avoid casting baits if possible as this knocks them around too much

This waterproof bait box keeps all of your baits fresh with our special salt mixture to keep everything preserved for your fishing trip.
